Direct answer

Test rezStream Devices with the exact hardware and property network proposed for installation. Create a reservation, assign a unit, send the credential, move the guest, extend the stay, cancel it and let the original checkout time pass. Record when access starts and stops, which system changed it and what remains in the audit history.

Repeat the test with the device, gateway and internet connection offline. Staff need a controlled way to admit a verified guest, revoke temporary access and reconcile the record after service returns. Review the physical opening separately for accessibility, egress and local requirements.

Relationship boundary

The show listing identifies a product to investigate.

rezStream appeared in the official 2026 Glamping Show Americas directory at booth 208. The exhibitor profile says rezStream Devices connects reservations with locks, thermostats, gates and other property equipment. UNIKOST has no documented partnership, reseller relationship or project role with rezStream.

The company's device register and support pages are useful product records. They do not establish the final package, property network, code path, device condition or operating result for another site.

Name the hardware

A supported brand is not a finished door schedule.

The rezStream register names models across locks, thermostats, gates, Wi-Fi and other device categories. It also records limits. An August keypad is required for PIN support. Custom PINs on listed Igloohome locks require Wi-Fi. Several Yale entries need a separate module or bridge. The Tuya notes limit temporary codes and exclude those locks from common doors.

List the exact door, frame, lock, handing, keypad, power source, bridge, gateway, network, firmware and device account for every opening. Add the command expected from rezStream Devices. “Yale” or “Schlage” alone is not enough to buy, install or accept the system.

Confirm the latch, strike, weather exposure, fire rating where applicable, emergency operation and accessible hardware with the responsible team. Software compatibility does not prove those facts. The operating-stack guide provides the wider systems map around this device file.

Test the credential

Write the access timeline in property time.

The show profile says unique guest codes can be created from reservations. Turn that statement into timed acceptance criteria. Record when a credential is created, delivered, activated and revoked, including the property time zone and daylight-saving behavior.

Test early arrival, an extension after the original checkout, unit movement, a second room, cancellation, no-show and same-day booking. The former room code should stop after a move. A canceled stay should not leave access active. Staff credentials need their own roles and removal path.

Use test reservations and an isolated room or training door. Capture both sides of every event: the reservation history and the physical response. The audit record should identify the device, credential owner, active period, command result and any manual override.

Break the connection

Run the failure day before a guest reaches the door.

Take one component offline at a time. Disconnect the lock's network path, bridge or gateway. Interrupt the property internet connection. Let the battery reach its alert threshold. Move the guest while the device is unreachable.

The result must answer four questions: can the verified guest enter, can a former guest still enter, does staff receive a useful alert, and does the intended state reconcile after service returns?

A mechanical key, lockbox, local credential or staffed response may serve the selected property. Give that method an owner, identity check, issue log, expiry or retrieval step and reconciliation procedure. A permanent code shared across the staff is not a continuity plan.

The remote-operations guide separates automatic, remote and local response. A dashboard may report a failed command; a trained person still needs a practical route to the opening.

Review the complete door

Digital access does not replace physical compliance.

The U.S. Access Board's ADA Standards cover fixed door and gate hardware on accessible routes. Section 404.2.7 connects handles, pulls, latches and locks to operability requirements and stated reach ranges. The guidance addresses one-hand operation and limits on grasping, pinching and wrist twisting.

Review the handle, latch, closer, threshold, clear width, maneuvering space and gate controls. Keep an arrival route for a guest who cannot use the proposed keypad or personal-phone flow. The locally adopted code, occupancy and authority decide the project requirement.

Thermostat automation has a similar boundary. Reservation timing may inform a setpoint, but it does not size HVAC or establish safe limits. Define the allowed range, sensor location, local control, maintenance override and response to a failed command.

Account and device control

Treat the connection as an IoT system.

The chain includes rezStream Cloud, rezStream Devices, a hardware cloud or hub, the property network, the physical device and staff phones or computers. Record the components and data exchanged among them.

NIST IR 8425 supplies a useful question set for consumer IoT: component inventory, stored and transmitted data protection, access to interfaces, software updates, state awareness and a security-contact route. It is not a rezStream assessment or property certification.

Ask who may enroll a device, whether administrator accounts use multi-factor authentication, how permissions are limited, what commands are logged and how firmware or integration changes are communicated. rezStream's support material describes multi-factor prompts for specified Cloud sign-ins. Confirm the policy for the proposed account.

Door history may contain guest, employee, unit and time data. Decide who may view it, how long it is kept, how an incident is preserved and what can be exported at contract end.

Pilot

Test the property rather than the catalogue.

Install the intended components on one representative guest-room door and, where relevant, one common gate. Use the actual network environment. Run several turnovers with housekeeping, maintenance, a manager and the after-hours responder.

Mark each test pass, conditional or fail. A conditional result needs a named owner, documented workaround and acceptable response time. Repeat a failed access or revocation test after correction. The PMS shortlist supports the wider system choice but does not replace this pilot.

Buyer file

Keep the physical and digital records together.

  • Exact lock, keypad, bridge, gateway and network models.
  • Door schedule, installation scope and physical review.
  • Supported commands and model-specific restrictions.
  • Credential timing, changes, revocation and audit history.
  • Battery, network and integration failure procedures.
  • Staff permissions, authentication and enrollment controls.
  • Update notices, incident route, retention and export.
  • Manual access, support, subscription and termination steps.

FAQ

Does rezStream Devices work with every smart lock from a supported brand?

The reviewed support register lists exact models and identifies extra modules or limits for several entries. Match the proposed model and required function to the current register, then confirm it before purchase.

Can a reservation automatically create a door code?

The official show profile says the product can create unique guest access codes from reservations. Test activation, delivery, unit changes and revocation with the proposed lock and configuration.

What happens when the property internet connection fails?

The reviewed public pages do not establish one offline behavior for every listed device. Test the exact lock, bridge and network path and keep a controlled manual route with later reconciliation.

Does a compatible smart lock satisfy accessibility or egress requirements?

Software compatibility does not establish physical accessibility, fire, egress or local approval. Review the complete opening and locally adopted requirements with the responsible project team and authority.

What should be tested before property-wide rollout?

Test a representative door through arrival, unit move, extension, cancellation, checkout, offline operation, low battery and manual override. Verify staff permissions, alerts, logs, support and export at the same time.
