Direct answer
Azure's public record includes ICC-ES ESR-5108, which evaluates its 3D-printed wall and roof panel systems for stated code editions and properties. The report does not approve a whole cabin, a specific floor plan, a glamping occupancy or a proposed site.
Match the quoted model and construction revision to the report, then request the evidence outside it: complete structural and MEP documents, fire and energy records, factory approval path, transport, installation, warranty and local approval plan.
Relationship boundary
This is an independent technical profile.
UNIKOST has no documented partnership, dealer relationship or project role with Azure Printed Homes. Current models, prices, capacity, territory and lead times require direct confirmation.
The Azure company profile in the Glamping Show Americas 2026 directory was the discovery item. An event listing can put a company on a research list. It does not establish product availability, suitability, approval or performance.
Read the report
ESR-5108 is specific about the system it evaluates.
ICC Evaluation Service identifies Azure Printed Homes as the report holder and 3D-printed wall and roof panel systems as the evaluation subject. It lists the 2024, 2021 and 2018 editions of the IBC and IRC. The evaluated properties are wind-load resistance, exterior wall cladding and roof covering.
The system is more specific than the phrase printed home. The thermoplastic panels are installed over wood-based sheathing supported by cold-formed steel framing. The report describes fasteners, clips, a water-resistive barrier and roofing underlayment. A buyer should ask which pages, tables, figures and supplements apply to the quoted model and where the drawings preserve those conditions.
ESR-5108 is subject to renewal in January 2027. The current report status and revision should be checked again before a later deposit or permit submission. ICC-ES also states that its report is not an endorsement or warranty.
Complete the unit file
A guest room contains systems outside the panel report.
The report does not by itself settle the complete structural system, foundation or chassis, floor, openings, insulation, envelope transitions, interior finishes, electrical, plumbing, mechanical equipment, fire protection, accessibility or energy compliance.
Request a model-indexed submittal. Each row should name the requirement, governing document, revision, responsible professional or agency, model and open project condition. One row may point to ESR-5108 for the exterior panel system. Separate rows should cover structural calculations, MEP drawings, thermal data, fire evidence where required, factory inspections and the installation manual.
The file must also identify whether the unit is foundation-set, wheeled or follows another classification. The visual form does not decide the regulatory path. The proposed use, construction, site and authority do. Use the manufacturer due-diligence checklist to connect the entity, plant, model, warranty and evidence.
Map the approval path
California's factory process still ends at the local site.
Azure lists a Gardena factory. California HCD says qualifying factory-built housing and building components use approved plans and certified third-party agencies, with factory inspection before an insignia is applied.
HCD also says installation is inspected by the local building department. Approved plans must be supplied to that agency, and post-installation alterations require local approval. A factory approval should not be described as a site permit.
Ask which agency approved the model plans, which agency inspects production and what insignia or label applies. Then ask the local jurisdiction what it needs for zoning, guest use, foundation or anchorage, utilities, fire access, accessibility and occupancy. Projects outside California need their own state and local pathway.
Material record
Translate recycled-content claims into traceable inputs.
Azure says more than 60 percent of its print material comes from recycled plastic and often expresses the amount as an equivalent number of bottles. Request the material specification, recycled-content basis, supplier records, additives, quality-control limits and mass-balance method for the selected model.
Keep print waste separate from factory waste and whole-project waste. Packaging, rejected parts, transport and site work fall outside a narrow printing number unless the calculation includes them. Maintenance belongs in the file too: coatings, repairs, component replacement and exposure to UV, heat, moisture, impact and fire.
Write the installed scope
The schedule begins before printing and ends after set.
Azure publishes short ranges for printing, finishes, delivery and installation. A project schedule should instead identify design freeze, authority submission, approval, material release, production, factory inspections, carrier pickup, site readiness, delivery, placement, connections, testing and acceptance.
Put owner and supplier work on the same page. Name the party for survey control, geotechnical information, supports or foundations, unloading, temporary protection, utilities, decks, accessible routes, permits and final cleaning. The delivery planning guide adds route, staging and set questions that a factory timeline may omit.
Record the site climate values beside the evidence for the whole unit. ESR-5108 includes wind provisions for the panel system; the complete building and site connection still need project-specific design. The snow, wind and climate guide provides that worksheet.
First technical call
Request one concise model file.
Send the parcel location, guest use, model, unit count, season, utility plan, access limits and known climate conditions. Ask for the legal seller, exact drawing revision, construction classification, ESR-5108 applicability statement, complete evidence index, factory approval records, site responsibility matrix, warranty and milestone schedule.
Ask the supplier to mark unavailable items as pending, excluded or not applicable. That is more useful than a polished folder with no model-to-document match. The cabin quote-scope guide can hold the commercial and technical answers together.
FAQ
Common questions about the evidence boundary.
Does ICC-ES ESR-5108 approve an Azure cabin?
No. It evaluates the wall and roof panel systems within the scope and conditions stated in the report. The complete unit, model configuration, use, site and local approval require additional evidence.
What does ESR-5108 evaluate?
The report lists wind-load resistance, exterior wall cladding and roof covering for the described 3D-printed wall and roof panel systems under named code editions.
Is an Azure printed unit automatically approved for glamping use?
No. Glamping is a market description, not a universal building or occupancy classification. The authority with jurisdiction determines the requirements for the project.
Does factory inspection replace local inspection?
No. California HCD says factory-built housing is inspected in the factory, while installation is subject to inspection by the local building department. Other jurisdictions have their own procedures.
What should a buyer request before a deposit?
Request the exact model and seller, the model-to-evidence index, approval path, complete scope and exclusions, factory and site responsibilities, schedule, payment milestones, warranty and acceptance criteria.
